  Thank You!

WIO's mission is made possible through
the generosity of our donors!

We are very grateful to those who have chosen to donate to our organization to help sustain our mission. We appreciate that everyone has choices for their contributions and we are glad WIO is a recipient of your generosity. These donations have gone to providing musician scholarships, expanding our musical library, inviting special guests to join our programs, offering reduced or free performance tickets, outreach to places like San Camillus, and ensuring we maintain a fiscally healthy nonprofit business practice.

The Wisconsin Intergenerational Orchestra is very pleased to announce receiving a $7,500 capacity-building grant award from the Richard and Ethel Herzfeld Foundation, a local funding group that recognizes that "arts and culture are vital to the wellbeing of a community," and that a "vibrant arts and cultural community is one that offers diverse cultural experiences to everyone."

This grant supports encouraging thoughtful and confidence-building intergenerational connections among WIO orchestra members, the retention of contracted staff to foster a positive experience for the orchestra and the audience, and the continuation of WIO outreach and collaborative events.

The WIO board of directors is exceptionally grateful to the Herzfeld Foundation for their significant investment in Wisconsin's arts and culture institutions and for their belief in and support of our orchestra.

Roberta Mallmann, Cello

November 30, 1938 – March 9, 2022

In Memoriam

Roberta was a cellist and teacher who passed away on March 9, 2022. For decades she performed in local ensembles big and small including the Waukesha Symphony Orchestra, the Kettle Moraine Orchestra, and, most recently, the Wisconsin Intergenerational Orchestra (WIO) where she served as principal cellist. She also had an impressive career as a music educator, including 28 years in the New Berlin School District. Her students ranged in age from elementary to high school grade levels. She nurtured many of these students from 5th grade until they finished high school. Some of those students are now members of WIO.

Thank you to our many Individual donors, who are acknowledged in our concert programs.
