The First Note
Welcome to the Wisconsin Intergenerational Orchestra. We believe that there is magic in bringing musicians of all ages together to explore, rehearse, and perform great music.
Together In Harmony
There is nothing new about the idea of an intergenerational community. In fact, intergenerational groups are as old as the human family. Our musical family, in all of it's uniquenss, will thrive from our rich diversity. After all, each of us needs something and has something to give away.
The Future Sounds Good
We have a chair waiting for you. The iGen Symphony Orchestra welcomes string players from middle school age on up. The WIO Studio will help support those who need more technical assistance with our repertoire.
We hope you will agree
“It’s Time to Play”

A note from Anne Marie
Thank you for visiting our website. You've heard the expression "Music is the international language". We believe that music is also the tool we can use to help build community, understanding and compassion. Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, the beloved Japanese violinist and teacher, once said "Music exists for the purpose of growing an admirable heart." It is our hope that the Wisconsin Intergenerational Orchestra will open many hearts in unexpected ways as our musical journey unfolds. — Anne Marie Peterson
